Spinal Energetics Policy

1. Practitioner and Modality

Spinal Energetics™ is a somatic and energy-based modality including light touch, movement suggestions, guided breath, visualisation, energetic interventions, or no-touch somatic attunements.

2. Nature of Services

This is a complementary therapy and is not a substitute for medical diagnosis, prescription, or treatment. Clients are encouraged to continue with their medical care and inform the practitioner of any ongoing treatments. The practitioner does not diagnose medical conditions, prescribe medication, or perform chiropractic adjustments.

3. Medical Disclosure

Clients complete intake forms, disclose relevant medical conditions, and provide clearance if requested for safe treatment. Clients confirm honest completion of intake/health questionnaires and agree to update the practitioner on any changes prior to each session. Relevant disclosures include pregnancy, recent surgeries or fractures, bleeding or clotting disorders (such as deep vein thrombosis), cancer, pacemakers or implanted devices, seizures, aneurysms, severe osteoporosis, active infections or fever, uncontrolled hypertension, heart disease, recent head or neck trauma, or any conditions impacting safety. When requested, clients will provide written clearance from their physician or specialist before treatment.

4. Contraindications

Treatment may be contraindicated or modified for conditions including but not limited to:

• Acute injury, inflammation, recent fractures, open wounds or burns;
• Deep vein thrombosis or clotting disorders;
• Unstable cardiovascular disease or uncontrolled hypertension;
• Active infection, fever or contagious illness;
• Severe osteoporosis;
• Cancer without written clearance from oncologist or physician;
• Pregnancy (treatment may be modified or require medical clearance);
• Recent head, neck or spinal trauma;
• Being under the influence of alcohol or impairing drugs.

The practitioner reserves the right to refuse, postpone, stop or modify treatment if safety concerns arise.

5. Benefits and Risks

Potential benefits include improved bodily awareness, nervous system regulation, reduced muscle tension, improved mobility, and enhanced overall wellbeing. Results vary and are not guaranteed.

Risks may include temporary soreness, bruising, light-headedness, dizziness, emotional release, psychological shifts, temporary symptom increase, allergic reactions to topical products, or exacerbation of pre-existing conditions. Rare but serious complications may occur. Clients accept these risks voluntarily.

6. Risk, Release and Indemnification

Clients assume all risks related to participation in Spinal Energetics to the fullest extent permitted by law and release Rachel Brennan, Love and Light Ireland and affiliated persons from claims or damages except for gross negligence or intentional misconduct.

Clients agree to indemnify and hold harmless the practitioner against third-party claims arising from their actions during or after sessions.

Note: This release does not waive liability for gross negligence or wilful misconduct where prohibited by law.

7. Minors and Age Limit

Clients must be 18+. Minors require parental/guardian consent and presence unless agreed otherwise.

8. Confidentiality

Client information is confidential and managed in line with GDPR. Copies can be requested in writing.

9. Media Consent

Explicit permission is required for photos, audio, or video recordings.

10. Telehealth / Remote Sessions

Clients are responsible for a safe environment and emergency provision during remote sessions. Incase of emergency, client is asked for provide location and emergency contact beforehand.The practitioner may refuse remote treatment if unsafe.

11. Cancellation, Late Arrival and No-Show Policy

24–48 hours’ notice is typically required to avoid full fees for cancellations, no-shows or late arrivals. Specifics confirmed at booking.

12. Payment and Insurance

Clients are responsible for costs. Insurance coverage may vary.

13. Emergency and Medical Advice

Spinal Energetics is not emergency care. Clients will contact emergency services if needed and continue care with licensed professionals, informing them about participation.

14. Governing Law

This policy is governed by Irish law. Invalid provisions are severed without affecting remainder.

15. Contraindications and Advisories

This applies to all session types, including courses, in-person and online.

Pregnancy and Postpartum

• Not suitable during first and third trimesters of pregnancy.
• Not recommended first three to six months postpartum.
• Second trimester treatment only by qualified practitioner, physiotherapist, GP or chiropractor.
• Rare trauma or strong emotional release possible; treatment not advised during these times.

Children

• Not suitable under twelve years.
• Guardians must be present for clients aged thirteen to eighteen.

Elderly Clients

• Treatment up to seventy-five years old.
• Extra caution and mobility assessment for clients aged seventy to seventy-five.

Consent Requirement

New clients must complete intake and sign consent before treatment.

Untreatable Conditions

• Severe PTSD
• Severe mental health issues (bipolar, schizophrenia, psychosis)
• Heavy medications altering brain chemistry
• Recent injuries, fractures or surgeries
• Epilepsy or seizure history
• Aneurysms
• Cardiovascular problems, heart disease
• Severe asthma
• Recent psychiatric hospitalisation or emotional crisis
• Conditions impairing safe participation in physical or emotional release activities

Additional Advisories

• Practitioners not under influence of illicit substances or plant medicines.
• No incorporation of illicit substances or plant medicines in treatment.
• No treatment of clients under influence.
• Practitioners do not treat animals.

16. Acknowledgement and Signature

By completing the health form, clients confirm they have read, understood, and consent to Spinal Energetics sessions under this policy.
